CNA Certification: The Steps Leading To The Exam

 

To become a certified nursing assistant, you’re going to have to take and pass the CNA certification examination. To be able to take and pass this exam, you first have to take a course in CNA training. The test you will be taking has a written and skills portion, and you’re going to need to be able to pass both to get your certification.

Once you have completed your certification training course, you have to sit down and go through some paperwork to register for the actual exam. Information concerning when you are to take the test will be forwarded to your after they receive your duly accomplished papers. Make sure you remember this information. It’s a good idea to start studying for the exam well before you even know when it is. Because the more study that you do, the better you are going to go in the exam and the more success you are going to have a finding a job.

CNA Training Procedures

It’s really important that you adhere to every step of the procedures when you are performing your demonstrations. It might not seem like a big deal if you forget to wash your hands, but even missing that one small step can result in failing the second half of the exam. Understanding each procedure is inadequate unless you have mastered the steps inherent to each. Just inform your test administrator and ask permission to repeat the demonstration if you make a mistake, if you have time left of course.

Retaking the test is a recourse those who failed it the first time can take. Taking the test again is limited in some states so make sure that when you do retake it you have had enough preparation. After all, you simply can’t become a CNA until you pass the examination.
